Adel Taarabt has been told to get into shape by Harry Redknapp if he wants to remain at Queens Park Rangers.

The Moroccan, who spent last season on loan at Fulham and AC Milan, was left out of QPR’s tour to Germany due to a lack of fitness.

Taarabt has been linked with a permanent move to Milan but manager Redknapp still believes he has a future at Loftus Road.

“The first day back training he wasn’t fit and hasn’t been fit to train since,” said Redknapp.

“We need to get him fit. He’s got to train morning, noon and night really, whether he stays here or goes somewhere else.

“I’ve got a lot of time for Adel. If he does that he will be a great asset to us I’m sure.”
