Along with Michael Carrick and Marcos Rojo the Manchester United defender was in the Anfield away end to take in his side’s late win over fearsome rivals Liverpool.
All three had been unavailable for the crucial match but delighted the travelling support by joining them to watch the game.
And when Wayne Rooney secured the three points Jones could not contain his excitement any more, joining the United supporters in wild celebrations captured for eternal posterity by the Sky cameras.

Jones tweeted a link to the video, writing: “Brilliant result, well done boys!

Carrick, who has been injured since the start of the month, shared his team-mate’s excitement, tweeting: “Get in boys!

The 1-0 victory over Jurgen Klopp’s side took United within seven points of leaders Arsenal and prompted Louis van Gaal to claim his team are back in the title race.
