Watford have completed the signing of talented teenager Kwadwo Baah.

The forward has burst onto the scene with League One side Rochdale this season and was close to joining Manchester City in January.

Baah, who came through Crystal Palace’s academy, didn’t end up moving to the Etihad, though, and has now joined Watford.

The 18-year-old’s contract at Rochdale was due to expire this summer and he has penned a five-year deal at Vicarage Road.

Baah scored three goals and two assists in 13 League One starts this season and had caught the eye of a number of clubs.

He was named EFL Young Player of the Month for January, while two months later he made his debut for England’s Under-18 side.

The forward had been linked with a number of Championship sides this summer, but Watford have stolen a march and won the race for his signature as they prepare to return to the Premier League.
