Manchester City get their new campaign underway tonight in what could be a challenging game against Tony Pulis' West Bromwich Albion side.
As the hosts proved last year against Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United visiting the Hawthorns is no easy prospect and Manuel Pellegrini's side will have to be at their best to leave the Black Country with a result.
However they will have plenty of opportunities to prove that with new signing Raheem Sterling set to slot into a richly-talented attack that should include David Silva, Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero.
West Brom have their own summer reinforcements to call on, though today's record signing Salomon Rondon will not feature. However former Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert and Arsenal loanee Serge Gnabry may be given the chance to impress alongside Tottenham target Saido Berahino.
The visitors were convincingly victorious in both of last season's encounters between the two sides, but West Brom will be keen to gain revenge for a controversial defeat in March. A case of mistaken identity saw defender Gareth McAuley sent off in the second minute as City went on to triumph, Wilfried Bony netting for the first time in a Manchester City shirt.
