West Ham in waiting game for Frederic Piquionne

Wanted: Frederic Piquionne
11 April 2012

West Ham have hit problems in their bid to sign striker Frederic Piquionne from French club Lyon.

Piquionne, who was on loan at Portsmouth last season, was scheduled to have a medical yesterday ahead of a £1 million move but it was delayed by Lyon.

It is understood club president Jean-Michel Aulas is prepared to sell Piquionne but coach Claude Puel is more reluctant to part with the striker and West Ham are waiting to see if the matter can be resolved.

The Hammers could also raise their offer for Nice striker Loic Remy after an £11.2m bid was rejected.
