West Ham player ratings vs Fulham: Lucas Paqueta suffers rare off-day as Jarrod Bowen void looms large

Hammers beaten by Cottagers at London Stadium

Lucas Paqueta was one of several West Ham players to suffer an off-day as the Hammers lost to Fulham.

A mistake from Konstantinos Mavropanos led to Andreas Pereira’s opening goal and the Brazilian made it two in the second half.

There were several poor performances as David Moyes’ men fell to a second 2-0 defeat in a few days, after their loss at Bayer Leverkusen.

Here’s how West Ham rated at the London Stadium...

Lukasz Fabianski 6

Faultless in the Leverkusen defeat and a similar story here. Cracking low save from Alex Iwobi to keep it at 1-0.

Vladimir Coufal 6

Great burst should have created opener for Michail Antonio. Slashed a couple of half-chances wide from awkward angles.

Konstantinos Mavropanos 3

Dreadful mistake for Fulham’s opener when he ought to have dealt with Iwobi’s ball. Seemed to jar his knee in collision with Rodrigo Muniz.

Nayef Aguerd 5

One good block on Muniz but iffy on the ball. Lack of recent football perhaps showed.

Emerson 5

Not up to his usual standard. Wasteful in possession and left-flank was muddled without a permanent winger to work off.

Edson Alvarez 4

Paying for the ill-discipline that has seen his recent schedule disrupted by multiple suspensions. Short on rhythm.

James Ward-Prowse 5

Not for the first time this season, looked ill-suited to playing in a midfield two, with lack of mobility exposed.

Mohammed Kudus 5

Curled just wide early on but form has dipped a little of late, just as West Ham need him to help fill the Jarrod Bowen void.

Lucas Paqueta 4

Started the game as if keen to make amends for being suspended when Leverkusen come here on Thursday. Loses the ball in dangerous areas far too often, though, and finally punished for Fulham’s second.

Michail Antonio 5

Wasted a glorious chance to open the scoring inside five minutes. Might have been a different game had he put it away.

Danny Ings 5

First league start since January. Flicked a couple of headers close but never really got into the game.

Substitutes

Kurt Zouma (Mavropanos 60’) 6

One of the few rested but move backfired.

Ben Johnson (Coufal 69’) 5

His now customary task of being asked to provide energy off the bench in the absence of more creative options.

Tomas Soucek (Ward-Prowse 69’) 6

Immediately more effective in breaking up the play than Ward-Prowse.

George Earthy (Antonio 82’) N/A

Handed a Premier League debut in the late stages but was taken off on a stretcher within minutes.

Maxwel Cornet (Earthy 90’) N/A

Unused: Anang, Cresswell, Ogbonna, Cornet, Mubama
