West Ham want Mario Mandzukic as Arsenal target Gonzalo Higuain nears Juventus - Tuesday's transfer gossip

While Gonzalo Higuain's impending move to Juventus is bad news for Arsenal, rivals West Ham could take advantage of the Italian champions' plethora of attacking options.

A €94million transfer fee would certainly see Higuain marked out as first choice for Juve, and that means Mario Mandzukic may be tempted into a cut-price move to the Hammers, according to Croatian paper vecernji.hr.

In more West Ham news, Slaven Bilic's preparations for the new season were dealt a blow with the news that Aaron Cresswell will be out for around four months following a knee injury.

Given the left-back's importance to Bilic's tactics, the Mirror reports that West Ham are likely to seek a replacement for Cresswell - especially if the 26-year-old needs surgery on the problem.

And while Chelsea manager Antonio Conte may be targeting more forward signings after bringing in Michy Batshuayi, it looks as though Diego Costa could be staying at Stamford Bridge as well.

According to the Mirror, Costa's former club Atletico Madrid have ended their bid to re-sign the Spain international, instead turning their attentions to Sevilla’s star striker Kevin Gameiro.
