West Ham's Dimitri Payet has been called up to the France squad for the first time since June 2015.
The 28-year-old has been named in the 23-man selection to face Netherlands on March 25 before hosting Russia at the Stade de France four days later.
It comes after France coach Didier Deschamps last month suggested Payet would not be considered ahead of the summer's European Championships.
He said: "I've already called and I have already spoken to him about it. I said that I expected more from him than he (produced) when he was with us.
"It was not enough. In the France team, he does not do the same thing (as he does) in his club.
"He is someone who is powerful in the club. He often plays on the left in a 4-3-3. He has some very interesting statistics on the left.
"But after that there is a competition issue. In this position on the left, the competition is from Anthony Martial, Antoine Griezmann, Mathieu Valbuena, Hatem Ben Arfa or Nabil Fekir before he got injured."
But Payet joins Tottenham's Hugo Lloris, Arsenal's Olivier Giroud and Crystal Palace's Yohan Cabaye in the squad as Deschamps experiments for the final time ahead of selecting his final Euro 2016 squad.
