Marko Arnautovic has confirmed that he will not leave West Ham during the January transfer window, and will put 'offers aside' to focus on playing for the Hammers for the rest of the 2018-19 season.
The Austrian forward made his intentions to leave the club clear earlier in January following lucrative bids from the Chinese Super League.
Arnautovic, 29, was left out of the Premier League squad to face Bournemouth at Dean Court last weekend, where the Hammers lost 2-0, but was back in training this week.
Despite widespread reports on Friday afternoon that West Ham had agreed to let Arnautovic leave should their asking price of £50million be met, the forward took to Instagram on Friday evening to confirm that he intends to remain in east London for the rest of the season and try to win the FA Cup with the Hammers.
“Dear West Ham fans, I guess it is no secret that there has been an offer for me and I have to admit that the offer was a very tempting one for me and my family," the forward wrote.
“I’ve given 100 per cent to my club deities but I have also needed some time to talk to my club, my wife and the rest of my family. I have now decided to put a stop to all the speculation.
“I’m a professional footballer and the only thing I know in life is to play football. It is clear that London and West Ham feels like home for me and I hope the West Ham fans have always seen that.
The club have pointed my career in the right direction since I joined and therefore I want to put the offers aside, help the club to climb as high as possible in the table and try to win the Cup.
Let’s focus on the rest of this season together and let them bubbles fly. COYI.”
