Women's FA Cup Final: Arsenal's Casey Stoney fires warning at favourites Chelsea

Giuseppe Muro14 May 2016

Arsenal face Chelsea in the Women’s FA Cup Final at Wembley tomorrow, with the Gunners out to show they are still a force.

The club won a remarkable 31 major trophies between 1993 and 2014 but since then their only joy has come in last season’s WSL Cup.

Chelsea lifted the FA Cup last season to win their first major trophy and followed that up by adding the WSL title to secure the double. They have already beaten Arsenal this season and the Gunners are third in the table after a mixed start.

But Arsenal defender Casey Stoney said: “We are under no illusions. Chelsea are the favourites to win this game, but we want to show that we are on our way back.”

The all-London clash is set to break the attendance record for a Women’s FA Cup Final. A crowd of 30,710 attended last year’s showpiece, the first to be held at the national stadium, between Chelsea and Notts County.
