Ottmar Hitzfeld not concerned about Swiss form

10 April 2012

Switzerland coach Ottmar Hitzfeld is not perturbed about his side's poor pre-World Cup form and insists everything is going according to plan.

The Swiss were beaten 1-0 by Costa Rica in Sion last night - their third straight friendly loss in preparation for South Africa - but Hitzfeld insists the results do not particularly worry him.

"We shouldn't read too much into losing to Costa Rica," he said.

"I am happy with the attitude of my players and the important thing is that we are ready in South Africa."

Switzerland face world champions Italy in Geneva on Saturday before flying out to South Africa, where they play European champions Spain in their opening fixture on June 16.
