England fans have unearthed a string of hilarious old tweets from hero goalkeeper Jordan Pickford in which he raves over Nando's and complains that his parents will not let him have Sky TV in his room.

The Everton keeper’s social media posts, from when he was a teenager and long before his World Cup fame, have been reshared by eagle-eyed fans who went deep into his Twitter archive.

The amusing tweets include Pickford, from Washington, Tyne and Wear, speaking of his love for Nando's, receiving pocket money from his mother and complaining that “freeview was soul destroying.”

Some of the hilarious tweets come from 2012, when the star, who performed an epic save to take England into the World Cup quarter-finals after a nail-biting penalty shoot out against Colombia , would have been about 18 years old.

One tweet read: “Wish the parents would pay for me to have Sky in my room, Freeview is soul destroying at this time of night.”

While another read: “On way to Metro, mam has give me some money wonder what to do.”

Nando’s was also on Pickford’s mind, as he said: “Think Nando’s is on the cards.”

And again - a few more times in 2013 - Pickford tweeted about the high-street favourite.

He said: "Nandos for the first time in a month going to go down a treat" and "Nandos with the lads, been a while!"

Another tweet, from his teenage years, was also about spots.

He said: "Keep looking in the mirror and thinking wow, my spots are massive."

Pickford was also tweeting about banta. He said: "Love when twitter is flowing with al the banta. Keeps the night going."

The World Cup hero's tweets about his parents raving, had also been unearthed.

He said: "Getting a snapchat off one of the lads of me mam raving to children in the night. Doesn't get much better!

The 24-year-old had sent the tweets when he was part of the Sunderland academy and have since went viral – with some fans offering to buy him a Nando’s meal and Sky TV.

Dale Bennett replied saying: “Multi-room, HD, sports, cinema. Have the lot mate, you’ve earned it.”

His latest tweet - posted on Wednesday morning - celebrates his efforts in Tuesday's unforgettable game.

He said: "What an unbelievable night. Now to get ready for Saturday. #england #sendthemin #wereonourway"
