Crystal Palace captain Mile Jedinak says Yohan Cabaye has given everyone at Selhurst Park a huge lift ahead of the new season.

Cabaye has joined from Paris St Germain for £10million and Jedinak says the midfielder has settled quickly.

Jedinak has also welcomed the signings of goalkeeper Alex McCarthy from QPR and Patrick Bamford on loan from Chelsea.

The trio made a positive impression on and off the field during Palace’s tour of South Africa and Jedinak said: “We are all looking to make those strides forward by bettering ourselves individually and as a team, and having the likes of those guys in the side is definitely a big lift for everybody.

“The new boys have been fantastic. The tour of South Africa was all about them getting used to how we do things. They are quality players and they get up to speed quite quickly.
