Former Liverpool and England striker Fowler looks set for move to Blackburn

Robbie Fowler looks set to join Blackburn on a pay-as-you-play deal after pricing himself out of a move to Norwegians SK Brann.

The former Liverpool and England striker, 33, was linked with a return to Cardiff but he is expected to sign a short-term deal at Ewood Park next week.

Meanwhile Birmingham City have taken West Ham midfielder Nigel Quashie on trial with a view to a three-month loan, while Parma’s Serbian striker Aleksandar Prijovic, 18, is set to complete his move to Derby after a five-week wait while the two clubs agreed compensation.
