Francis pleads for someone to buy QPR

Adrian Curtis13 April 2012

QPR manager Gerry Francis today appealed for a cash buyer to save the club - even if it means he is forced to step down as manager.

Francis and chairman-owner Chris Wright, the millionaire founder of the Chrysalis empire came under fire again from angry fans last night as Rangers slumped to a 2-0 home defeat against Fulham last night.

Yesterday Standard Sport revealed that Francis's position at the club is in jeopardy but he said: "I don't think my future is relevant because the most important thing is First Division survival. I am here until the end of the season unless someone comes in and buys the club and tells me otherwise or somebody else tells me otherwise.

"The most important thing for me, which is why I came back in the first place, is the club's future.

"I will be pleased with that even if it means me and my backroom staff having to lose our jobs. I do not need to work at the moment and I would not have come back for any other club. There is no doubt the club needs major financial investment."
