Frank Arnesen's work is coming of age

High hopes: Chelsea's youth boss Frank Arnesen

It is nearly three years since Frank Arnesen left Tottenham to head up Chelsea's youth development and the Dane's influence could be about to help the club win their first trophy of this season.

Chelsea's Under-18s are away to Manchester City in the second leg of the FA Youth Cup Final tonight - the first leg ended 1-1 - as they bid to become the first Chelsea side since 1961 to win the trophy.

Arnesen, who brought many of the youngsters to the club, feels Chelsea are developing talented players for the future.

"They are getting better and better," said Arnesen, "I'm proud of all of them. The standard of play in the first leg was very good and hopefully they will play with the same level of performance tonight."

Chelsea's equaliser at home came from Gael Kakuta and Arnesen feels he could well progress into the first team.

He said: "Kakuta has everything in his locker. He has scored goals when we've needed it and has been fantastic this season."
