Geraint Williams prays Simon Church can stay

Ian Winrow13 April 2012

Geraint Williams is hoping Reading don't recall Simon Church after his goals sealed a dramatic comeback for 10-man Orient against Leeds.

Church struck twice as his side recovered from the shock of falling two goals behind and the loss of Jason Demetriou to a 60th-minute red card.

Williams said: "Reading have a 24-hour recall clause but we're hoping he'll be here until the summer."

Church took his tally to four goals in five games but only after winning a dressing room argument with Sean Thornton about who got the decisive touch for his side's 65th-minute opener.

The striker said: "It was my goal. I've seen the video and showed everyone it was my goal by celebrating on my own at the time."

Barnet manager Ian Hendon will step up his efforts to convince striker Paul Furlong he should extend his stay at Barnet after the 40-year-old's double secured a 2-0 win over Rotherham last night.

Hendon said: "Paul's been fantastic, he's got plenty of running left in him and I'm sure he'll play again next year."
