Grant admits Chelsea must pay over the odds for players

Chelsea manager Avram Grant admits he must pay over the odds for players next month as he bids to revive the club's fading title hopes.
They go into today's home clash against Newcastle with a squad depleted by injuries and suspensions, including Ashley Cole, who lost his appeal against a Boxing Day red card.

Grant said: "I can guarantee you that any player we're interested in, the price will be suddenly more than we thought.
"But what can we do? I will pay it. He (Roman Abramovich) knows the situation we're in and what we need to do."
