David Norris ran in a stunning solo winner for Plymouth — leaving manager Ian Holloway thirsting for revenge against Barnet in the next round.

He said: "Barnet beat us in the League Cup so we have an old score to settle there. It was not fluent but we are through — we have not been in the fourth round for seven years which is great."

The visitors axed boss Keith Alexander on Monday following a run of six consecutive defeats in League Two and caretaker boss Tommy Taylor enjoyed a dream start when they took the lead.

Goalkeeper Luke McCormick and centre-back Hasney Aljofree both hesitated and Aaron McLean nipped in to claim his 20th goal of the season on 13 minutes.

Five minutes later Argyle profited when Mark Tyler allowed Barry Hayles' effort to squirm into the net. They settled the replay in 27 minutes after Norris exchanged passes with Hayles before squeezing the ball past Tyler.
