Houllier chases UEFA record

Gerard Houllier: Fancies another UEFA Cup win
14 April 2012

Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier wants his club to become the unashamed kings of the UEFA Cup.

They face Slovenian side Olimpija Ljubljana tonight knowing they are one of only four clubs who have won the competition three times.

Houllier said: "It is our aim to win it again and achieve a new record. We go into the competition to give our best and win it, we feel that about any tournament."

Liverpool are without the suspended El-Hadji Diouf but have Stephane Henchoz back. Michael Owen, with 20 European goals, needs one more to take Ian Rush's all-time club record.
