Hughes hails Brazilian duo

13 April 2012

Mark Hughes is pleased by the way Manchester City's Brazilian partnership is developing.

Elano hit a goal to savour in last night's 2-1 UEFA Cup win over AC Omonia, latching on to a crossfield pass from compatriot Robinho and lashing the ball into the corner of the net.

City boss Hughes said: "Elano is coming into a bit of form. He is playing on the left alongside Robinho, and they are working well together.

"They already have a good understanding, which will benefit us in the games ahead."

Shaun Wright-Phillips also scored at Eastlands as City claimed a 4-2 aggregate victory.
