Injury woe for Arsenal

Steve Stammers13 April 2012

Arsenal have been hit by a fresh injury worry as they prepare for their Champions League clash against Bayer Leverkusen at Highbury tomorrow.

Already out injured are Tony Adams, Martin Keown, Ashley Cole, Fredrik Ljungberg and Matthew Upson and they have been joined by Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

The Dutch international picked up a knee problem in the first half of the 4-1 win over Fulham in the Premiership on Saturday.

He went for a scan yesterday and Arsenal were expecting the result today but whatever it shows he faces at least two weeks on the sidelines.

Lauren will probably play at left-back with Lee Dixon at right-back against the Germans.

A further problem for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is that Ray Parlour and Oleg Luzhny are suspended.
