It’s time for an answer: Manchester City tell Brazilian Ronaldinho

13 April 2012

Manchester City have told Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho that they will not wait for ever for a decision on his future.

City still hold out hope of signing the 28-year-old after agreeing a deal in principle with Barcelona.

Waiting: Manchester City want an answer from Ronaldinho

Yet, as reports in Spain yesterday said AC Milan had proposed a loan deal, City were still waiting for a definitive answer.

City executive chairman Garry Cook said: ‘We definitely don’t want to be sitting waiting for a decision from Ronaldinho.

‘A mutual decision has to be made. We are setting our own timeline.

‘We know what we want and when we want to make that decision.

‘We’re not going to sit and wait. This is too big a football club for that.’

City manager Mark Hughes and his squad flew to Germany for a training camp today, leaving Cook and the club's advisers to work on the Ronaldinho deal.

Cook added: ‘This is a big football club in a big league and Ronaldinho wants to be in the best league with a big club. There is no hiding the fact that success for this club is imminent.’
