Ivanovic into last eight

12 April 2012

Serbia's Ana Ivanovic stormed into the quarter-finals of the French Open on Sunday after a 6-0 6-0 victory over Petra Cetkovska.

Last year's runner-up at Roland Garros, second seed Ivanovic was too strong in every facet of the game for Cetkovska, who is ranked 77th in the world.

The whitewash was over in just 54 minutes. Ivanovic will now meet the winner of the match between 10th seed Patty Schnyder and 27th seed Katarina Srebotnik.

Carla Suarez Navarro became the second women safely into the last eight after she cruised to victory over Venus Williams' conqueror Flavia Pennetta.

The 26th seed all but gifted the win to 19-year-old Suarez Navarro by committing 37 unforced errors in the match, allowing the Spaniard a comfortable 6-3 6-2 victory.
