Korea's Jin Jeong claimed a share of third place in the Open Championship at St Andrews this morning.

Jeong was one of 30 players unable to complete their rounds on Friday due to a 65-minute delay for strong winds. The 20-year-old only had the 18th hole to complete when play was suspended at 9:45pm last night, but returned to the Old Course in time to resume play at 6:30am.

And the youngster finished in style with a birdie three to complete a superb 70 and lie six under par, joint third alongside English stars Lee Westwood and Paul Casey, six behind runaway leader Louis Oosthuizen.

Kent's Steve Tiley had resumed his round at six under par this morning, but ran up a double bogey on the 11th and bogeyed the 12th as well to fall back to three under.

Tiley also bogeyed four holes in a row from the 14th as his round unravelled - "Eight holes of panic" he later described today as - but parred the last for a 79 to make the cut by one shot.

Darren Clarke, who qualified for the event by finishing second in the Scottish Open last Sunday, resumed on the 16th tee hoping to find it was downwind.

Instead it was into a stiff breeze, but he two-putted from 45 feet for par there and hit a perfect drive down the dangerous 17th.

From there, however, the former Ryder Cup star turned his four-iron into the Road Bunker and after splashing out to 12 feet missed the putt.

A birdie on the last, which came thanks to a superb chip-and-run to five feet, got him back to four under, though.

The cut ended up at two over with 77 players qualifying for the last 36 holes.
