Kaymer in Faldo frame for Ryder Cup spot after superb round in Munich

Nick Faldo may have to utilise a younger generation of golfer in this year's Ryder Cup against the Americans, judging by events in Munich yesterday.

Germany's 23-year-old Martin Kaymer shot a nine-under-par 63 to take a five-stroke lead halfway through the BMW International Open.

Should he add a second victory to his first tour win in Abu Dhabi in January, he will climb from 10th to sixth in the tables that will provide 10 of Faldo's side.

Joint second last night were Kent's Benn Barham after a second-round 68 and France's Francois Delamontagne, who shot 66..
