Khabib Nurmagomedov has shut down talk of a rematch with Conor McGregor.

The UFC lightweight champion will make the second defence of his title against interim champion Dustin Poirier at UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi in October.

It will mark his first fight since his explosive victory over McGregor last October – where he defeated the Dubliner via a fourth round submission.

In the aftermath, a mass brawl between the fighters and their respective backroom teams erupted inside and outside the octagon with tensions remaining high between the two ever since.

Nurmagomedov was inevitably quizzed on the possibility of another meeting with McGregor during a UFC 242 press conference held in London on Wednesday afternoon.

And the undefeated 30-year-old insisted there are plenty ahead of McGregor in the queue to face him.

“In the last three years he has one win in amateur boxing," Nurmagomedov said.

“He doesn’t deserve rematch. He tapped, he beg me, ‘please don’t kill me'. Now he talks about rematch?

“Tony Ferguson on the line. People who have win streaks on the line. Not the guy who wins nothing for three years.”
