Ladbrokes clinch deal for TurfTV

13 April 2012

LADBROKES became the latest bookmakers to sign up with TurfTV yesterday, adding their 2,340 shop empire to the 4,500 shops already on board.

Once Coral decided on December 22 to break the mould of the Big Four bookmakers and opt to take the 31 TurfTV tracks it was inevitable that the other three, Ladbrokes, Hills and Betfred would fall into line.

The last two have yet to reach agreement but this is surely only a matter of time if they don't want to be left behind in the High Street war.

Yesterday, the first day that TurfTV was in full operation, only the 4,500 betting shops already signed up were able to receive Cheltenham and Catterick.

From today Ladbrokes will be added to those shops able to receive the broadcast from Ayr.

Ladbrokes will supply the TurfTV tracks through their dedicated broadcast channel Ladbrokes Xtra.

They have signed a five-year agreement, in common with Coral and the other betting shops which already take the service.
