Lavezzi no interest in Chelsea move

12 April 2012

Napoli's Ezequiel Lavezzi claims Chelsea are interested in his services but insists he has no interest in joining them.

The 23-year-old forward is one of the key players behind Napoli's strong start to the Serie A campaign this season, winning himself a call-up to the Argentina squad and reportedly attracting the interest of a number of clubs.

But despite being in demand across Europe at the moment, Lavezzi insists he is happy where he is, saying in Gazzetta dello Sport: "I want to stay. I know Chelsea are interested in me but my agent and the club are dealing with all that."

He added: "I don't think there is any intention of letting me go and I'm glad about that, I'm really happy in Napoli."

Lavezzi was among the 23-man squad named by new Argentina coach Diego Maradona for his first game in charge against Scotland on November 19.

The forward revealed he was delighted to have received a call-up, and believes the only way to keep his place in the squad was to stay with his current club.

"At the moment I'm playing well so the call-up has come," he continued.

"I dream of becoming a fixture in the national team even if I realise that we have many good forwards and the competition is tough.

"Napoli will have to help me with this."
