Leeds name Simon Grayson as new manager

13 April 2012

Leeds have named current Blackpool boss Simon Grayson as their new manager.

Grayson takes over from Gary McAllister, who was sacked on Sunday by the League One club.

Blackpool had refused Leeds permission to speak to the man who guided the club to promotion to the Championship in 2007, so the 39-year-old quit his post and immediately accepted Leeds' offer of a contract.

The Lancashire club are now considering taking legal action against both Grayson and Leeds.

Grayson joins Leeds after a six-year stint at Blackpool, first as a player then as manager.

The Yorkshireman started his career at Elland Road as an apprentice and made two senior appearances for the club before joining Leicester in 1992.
