Lewis Hamilton tells angry Felipe Massa to grow up

13 April 2012

Lewis Hamilton today accused Felipe Massa of immaturity after the Brazilian snubbed his olive branch.

A furious Massa confronted the McLaren driver following their crash at last month's Singapore Grand Prix - their third collision of the season - and it was followed by another at last week's Japanese Grand Prix.

Hamilton took the blame for the Suzuka smash and said he wanted to patch things up with the Ferrari star.

"The situation has not been great for some time," said the Briton ahead of Sunday's Korean Grand Prix. "I hope in future we can put our guards down and he can be cool with me, as I am cool with him."

However, when Massa was told of Hamilton's comments he replied: "I've nothing to say. I've seen many mistakes, and not from me. To be honest I don't care any more. I'm not going to speak to him."

Massa's reaction drew a shrug of the shoulders from Hamilton, who said: "Well, if he doesn't want to be grown up about it, that's fine."
