Liverpool hit by new Fowler blow

13 April 2012

Liverpool, who play Valencia in Amsterdam tonight, have been hit by another knee injury to England striker Robbie Fowler.

Fowler was ruled out of training today with an injury to the same knee that has caused him so much trouble over the past two years.

Manager Gerard Houllier said: "He just felt something in his knee. With his track record of injuries I am not confident. He could be fine - but yes I am worried."

Liverpool have agreed a deal to take Milan Baros on loan from Czech side Banik Ostrava to cover for Fowler. The 19-year-old has scored nine times in 14 games for the Czech Republic's Under-21s.
