Marin Cilic marches on with Nikolay Davydenko win

Marin Cilic booked his place in the last four of the China Open with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over fourth seed Nikolay Davydenko today.

The Croatian, seeded eighth, needed one hour and 35 minutes to beat the Russian, who converted only one of his three break points.

In the women's section, the battle of the Russians went as expected with sixth-seed Svetlana Kuznetsova seeing off Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-3, 6-3 in one hour and 20 minutes.
