Marsh slams attitude of young England cricketers

Rodney Marsh today hit out at the attitudes of the young England players during their recent 'A' team cricket tour of India and Malaysia.

The Test selector, director of the national academy and former Australian wicketkeeper said: "I was delighted with a couple of the boys, Kevin Pieterson and Sajid Mahmood. But as a team we didn't make real progress.

"A lot of these guys have been spoon fed. They don't think for themselves as much as they should. If I'd been a youngster, away with a national selector, I'd have been doing all the right things.

"Maybe that was the way I was brought up, or maybe I had this enormous desire to play for my country."
