Moa to stay with Hull

Hull's Tongan prop forward Sam Moa has signed a new contract for 2012 after agonising over the decision for two months.

The 25-year-old former Cronulla and Wests Tigers forward was out of contract at the end of this season but has committed himself to a fourth year at the KC Stadium.

"It wasn't an easy decision to make," said Moa, whose partner was forced to return to Australia earlier in the year due to work commitments. "I had to think long and hard about my situation and my family and it was a tough call."

He added: "I'd be lying if I said there hadn't been interest from elsewhere but in the end it came down to my family and that's why it took so long for me to sign again.

"My family are very important to me and it is a lot of time to spend away from them and I want to thank them for supporting me."

Moa has made 56 appearances for the Black and White and has missed only two matches so far this year.

"Sam has been a good news story for us since arriving at the club three years ago," said coach Richard Agar.

"His progress has been excellent and he has put himself in a position at the club where he is an important player for us and a popular and well-respected member of the group.

"We understand that it has been a very tough decision for him personally and one he has needed to take some time over."

Moa's decision to stay means Hull have no room left on either their overseas quota or non-federation trained player list and, therefore, an end-of-season exit for fellow Tongan forward Epalahame Lauaki, who has been linked with a move to Wigan.
