Moody ready for Champions Trophy

12 April 2012

Sri Lanka coach Tom Moody has expressed confidence in his side ahead of their participation in the ICC Champions Trophy.

The islanders leave on Saturday for the month-long competition in India, where they will have to negotiate a qualifying round to get into the tournament proper. Despite being forced to compete in the qualifying round, Moody feels it could be a blessing in disguise for the team to get used to conditions with games against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh and defending champions West Indies.

"I am looking at that in a positive angle. We are happy that we have got an opportunity to play matches and we'll be able to take advantage of that," Moody said to The Island.
