Murray relishing Djokovic rematch

12 April 2012

Andy Murray is relishing the chance to exact revenge on Novak Djokovic when the two meet in the semi-final of the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami.

Djokovic defeated Raphael Nadal 6-3 6-4 in the quarter-finals on Wednesday to set up a clash with Murray, who earlier secured his place in the last four after his opponent Andy Roddick retired through injury.

Djokovic beat the young Scot at the same stage in the Pacific Life Open just two weeks ago and Murray believes that if he plays to his best form, he can defeat the Serbian. "I will just play my game," he said. "I think his game kind of fits into mine quite well."

Murray added: "Hopefully I can play a good match, mixing it up, coming to the net, bringing him in a little bit, not giving him the same pace all the time.

"I think that's important against him because he's got really solid ground strokes off both wings. You have to throw him off his rhythm a little bit."

Murray, who became the first Brit to reach the semi-finals of the tournament since Tim Henman in 1998, has double the incentive to defeat Djokovic as victory would confirm his place inside the ATP Rankings Top 10.

The 19-year-old has a day's rest before facing Djokovic and he is confident he will be in great shape when he returns to the court.

He said: "It will be a good match for me, a good test, and one that I'm looking forward to.

"I feel like I'm in good shape, I'm definitely going to have enough time off to be 100% fit going into the match."
