N'Zonzi ready for Premier League

12 April 2012

New Blackburn midfielder Steven N'Zonzi is confident he is up to the challenge of making the grade in the Barclays Premier League.

The 20-year-old has signed a four-year contract with Rovers after moving from Amiens SC. Although N'Zonzi represented France at youth team level he only made his professional debut in April 2008.

"It is a big move for me and I am really pleased to have done it with Blackburn," he said.

He continued: "It is true it will be a big difference as I am used to playing in the championship in France but I am young and I am here to learn.

"I really want to do the best to improve my game, training every day with experienced players and give my best for the new challenge.

"It is a big challenge and I want to succeed. I am sure the coach and the staff will help me to become a good player."

N'Zonzi is Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce's fourth signing of the summer, following former Everton defender Lars Jacobsen and South Africa midfielder Elrio van Heerden to Ewood Park after Gael Givet made his loan deal permanent.

The youngster, who has been likened to former France and Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira, is grateful to be given his chance by Allardyce.

"Every week in France we watch the Premier league, it is the top league in the world," he told Rovers World.

"It is a privilege for me to be here and this is a dream come true."
