Nicol misses out on Lions tour
Scotland captain Andy Nicol today became the highest profile player to miss out on initial selection for the Lions tour to Australia in the summer.
The selectors announed 67 names - 22 from England, 18 from Wales, 15 from Ireland and 12 from Scotland - comprising the players they expect to provide the basis for the final squad for the three-Test tour. England's Mike Tindall, Jason Robinson, Trevor Woodman and Joe Worsley missed out. Lions coach Graham Henry has included injured England pair Dan Luger and Phil Greening along with Julian White and Matt Perry. Bath scrum-half Gareth Cooper and London Irish flanker Kieron Dawson also made the cut.
