Nigerian sprinters Osayemi Oludamola and Samuel Okon have been disqualified from the Commonwealth Games in Delhi after committing doping violations, the Commonwealth Games Federation have announced.

The duo each tested positive for the banned stimulant methylhexaneamine, with Oludamola's B sample also showing an adverse finding in results announced on Tuesday evening.

Okon, who was sixth in the men's 110m hurdles final, waived his right to have his B sample tested, while both athletes declined full hearings.

Oludamola, last Thursday's women's 100m champion, has been stripped of her title, with the gold medal going to Natasha Mayers of St Vincent and the Grenadines, while Katherine Endacott of England takes silver and Bertille Delphine Atangana of Cameroon has been promoted to bronze.

A CGF statement read: "Yesterday, October 11, 2010, the provisional hearing for Ms Oludamola ruled that the provisional suspension of the athlete would continue until the result of her B sample was received.

"The athlete tested positive for the prohibited substance methylhexaneamine on October 7, 2010. The B sample test has now been received, confirming the result of the A sample test.

"Ms Oludamola confirmed during the provisional hearing that she was waiving her right to a full hearing as provided for under the ADS (Anti-Doping Standard).

"With the B sample confirming the results of the A sample, the federation court determined that Ms Oludamola had committed an anti-doping rule violation and that she be disqualified from the Games and all her competition results at the 2010 Commonwealth Games be nullified.

"The gold medal for the women's 100 metres will now be awarded to Natasha Mayers of St Vincent and the Grenadines, the silver to Katherine Endacott of England, with the bronze going to Bertille Delphine Atangana of Cameroon."

Okon and Oludamola will have to wait to discover the full consequences of their positive tests.
