Chris Eubank Jr’s manager and father, Chris Eubank Sr, told his son not to aim for his opponent’s face amid concerns over Nick Blackwell’s condition.

Eurbank Jr won the bout at Wembley's SSE Arena to claim the British middleweight title in a fight that has left his opponent in an induced coma.

The fight was stopped in the 10th round following advice from the ringside doctor. Blackwell would leave on a stretcher before being taken to St Mary's Hospital in London.

Footage emerged from the fight, broadcasted by Channel 5, on Sunday evening showing Eubrank Sr instructing his son ‘to take him out to the body’ and not the face, to avoid his opponent from ‘getting hurt’.

"If the referee doesn't stop it, then I don't know what to tell you,” Eubank Sr told his son.

"But I will tell you this: if he doesn't stop it and you keep on beating him like this...one, he is getting hurt, two, if it goes to a decision, why hasn't the referee stopped the fight? I don't get why.

"So maybe you shouldn't leave it to the referee. But you are not going to take him out to the face. You are going to take him out to the body. Okay?"
