Ian Poulter in hunt as Guyatt stands out

Ian Poulter made a solid start to his Australian Masters title defence by firing a 67 to finish two strokes behind surprise first-round leader Matthew Guyatt in Melbourne.

The Englishman (above) said: “I made a couple of 30ft putts but missed a few short ones.”

Aussie journeyman Guyatt said: “I’ve never been in this position before. I won’t get ahead of myself.”
