Take soft option with Bog Warrior

ODDS ON: Your guide to the pick of this week's betting ...

Never has a horse been so aptly named as BOG WARRIOR. The nine-year-old just loves a slog in the mud and we’ll be hoping for plenty of rain before tomorrow’s World Hurdle, for which the Warrior is 7-1.

Trainer Tony Martin chose this easier option for his horse, who has won seven of the eight jump races he has completed, rather than go for Friday’s Betfred Gold Cup and he only ever runs his campaigner when the ground is either soft, which it is expected to be tomorrow, or heavy.

If the Warrior finishes second behind the favourite, Paddy Power will give you your money back and that concession applies to all races tomorrow.

Another horse which has made an interesting switch to another race at the Festival is David Pipe’s DYNASTE.

The grey was a long-standing favourite for the RSA Chase but Pipe has chosen to run him in the less demanding Jewson Novices’ Chase — his trainer believes he is the best horse in both races — and he is worth backing at 7-4.

Ahead of the Festival, champion trainer Paul Nicholls said SAM WINNER was his nap of the entire meeting.

That’s some boast. The six-year-old runs tomorrow in the Pertemps Final and is available at 4-1. Make sure you place your bet with bet365 because, if Winner romps in at 4-1 or higher, they’ll match your stake as a free bet in the Ryanair Chase.
