Pitch is the key, says Holloway

Hoping it will be curtains for Watford: Plymouth boss Ian Holloway

Plymouth fear their pitch will play into Watford's hands on Sunday after weeks of rain have turned Home Park into a quagmire.

Manager Ian Holloway dismissed the general belief that his side are favourites for their FA Cup quarter-final, saying: "Watford are possibly the most dangerous opponents we could have and it's demeaning to them to say it's a winnable tie for us.

"The way they play we know the pitch will not faze them, because they won't have to change their game plan. That's going to make them difficult because you know they won't stop trying."

Watford winger Tommy Smith sounded a warning to the Championship side when he declared he hopes to play in Europe next season by reaching the FA Cup final against a team that will have already qualified for the Champions League.

He said: "We mentioned Milwall's situation from when they got to the Final and to get into Europe as well would be great. If we go down it would be good to look back on the season and pick positives out of it."

TV: Sunday, BBC1, 5.50pm (ko 6.0).
