Platt 'error' baffles Keegan

13 April 2012

Kevin Keegan believes England have made a big mistake in not calling Shaun Wright-Phillips into the Under-21 squad.

The Manchester City manager is baffled by the 20-year-old's omission by David Platt for tomorrow's friendly in Slovenia.

"We must have some really, really good players in this country if Shaun is not in the squad," he said. "How many First Division players are included? Two."

Squad: Robinson (Leeds), Weaver (Man City), Barry (A Villa), Upson (Arsenal), Dunn (Blackburn), Knight (Fulham), Parker (Charlton), Wright (Liverpool), Prutton (Nott'm Forest), Riggott (Derby), Konchesky (Charlton), Jenas (Newcastle), Etherington (Tottenham), Defoe (West Ham), Christie (Derby), Ameobi (Newcastle), Pennant (Arsenal).
