Tiffany Porter today stormed into the final of the 100 metres hurdles at the World Championships by breaking her own British record in Daegu.

Porter, who was born in Michigan but has held dual citizenship since birth thanks to her London-born mother, won the third semi-final in 12.56 seconds, taking 0.04secs off the time she set earlier this year.

Australia's Sally Pearson was the fastest qualifier for the final, winning the second semi-final in 12.36s, the fifth quickest run of all time. But Porter was second fastest overall and will now be hoping to claim Britain's sixth medal of the championships later on Saturday evening.
