Quins wish departing chief well

13 April 2012

Harlequins chief executive Paul Brown has resigned from the rugby league club due to poor health.

The club declined to reveal the nature of Brown's illness but chairman Keith Hogg said: "Paul's health is much more important than anything to do with rugby league and we wish him all the best with his recovery.

"Everyone associated with the club would like to thank him for all the hard work he has put in.

"He has played a key role in helping us through the period following Ian Lenagan's move to Wigan and then ensuring we submitted a very professional licence application.

"Until his illness Paul was also playing a vital role in the signing of players for next season and he leaves the club in the best position it has been in for some time."
