Rafa continues his recruitment drive with keeper Rame next on his list

Rafa Benitez, who completed the free transfer of Philipp Degen from Borussia Dortmund yesterday, has lined up 35-year-old former France keeper Ulrich Rame to act as cover for Pepe Reina.

The Liverpool manager is believed to have offered the long-serving Bordeaux No 1 a two-year contract and is ready to include current reserve Charles Itandje in a swap deal.

Liverpool are also interested in Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik, 20.
