Rangers pick up Premiership youngsters

13 April 2012

Queens Park Rangers today signed striker Dave McEwen from Tottenham and young defender Terrell Forbes from West Ham on free transfers.

Twenty-three-year-old McEwen, who made only four substitute appearance for Spurs' first-team after joining from them non-League Dulwich Hamlet in January, and Forbes, 19, could make their debuts in tomorrow's pre-season friendly against Celtic.

The Scottish champions are bringing a strong squad, including Henrik Larsson, Chris Sutton and Neil Lennon, and QPR are expecting a capacity 17,500 Loftus Road crowd.

Rangers' fans appear to be sticking with the club after their relegation to Division Two and are on track to set a new season ticket sales record of more than 6,000.
