Reading confirm bans for pair

12 April 2012

Reading have suspended midfielder Emerse Fae and centre-back Ibrahima Sonko for two weeks following a breach of club discipline.

The Barclays Premier League club on Thursday confirmed the pair's ban, which rules them out for the remainder of the season. It has been reported that the pair refused to play in a reserve game against Tottenham on Monday.

"As far as I'm concerned it's an internal disciplinary measure and it's been dealt with," Royals manager Steve Coppell told the club's official website www.readingfc.co.uk.

"I don't want to take anything away from the focus of what's important for us this week, and that is our game against Tottenham on Saturday.

"Everything else is just incidental as far as I'm concerned."
